He was born on February 12, 1954 to parents, Phillis A. (Martin) and James William White, Sr.
James was educated in the parochial school system, attending St. Francis Elementary and graduating from Notre Dame High School, class of 1972.
He excelled in basketball and football. He was a Catholic and later was baptized under Reverend Alfred Hawkins at Transfiguration Church.
James was employed as an Engineer by Norfolk Southern Railroad for 22 years.
His heart was always opened; he never let anyone go hungry nor homeless. James always made a daily habit of letting everyone know he loved them; he loved God and his fellow man.
He was preceded in death by his father, James W. White, Sr.; his wife, Catherine Copeland White; mother-in-law, Catherine Copeland; and father-in-law, Alfred Copeland.
James leaves to cherish his memories his daughter, Mrs. Catherine (Christopher) Ware; sons, James White, Jason White and Lamont (Samantha) McMillion; his mother, Mrs. Phillis A. White; sister, Ms. Spencer Horton; and brother, Reginald M. White; 12 grandchildren; and devoted friend, Lajuana Glass; other relatives and dear friends.
There will be no services.
