Jay was born in Chattanooga and currently living in Ft. Oglethorpe, GA. He was of the Baptist faith, and loved Jesus. He enjoyed bowling and playing video games with his brothers and his momma kitty will miss him.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Chris Helton; and paternal grandparents, Charles (Jo Anne) Powell.
Surviving are his father, Jack (Louise) Powell; mother, Vennessa (Phil Forrester) Cates; brothers, Daniel Powell, Adam Powell and Jeff Brooks; and uncle, Chuck Powell.
There will not be any visitation at the funeral home.
Graveside services will be at 10 AM on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at New McDonald East View Cemetery with Minister Billy Watkins officiating.
In memory of Jay, memorial donations may be made to MARC (Marion Animal Resource Connection) 225 Sequatchie Lane, Sequatchie, TN 37374.
