Mr. Riddle was born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee and graduated from Bearden High School in 1962. He graduated from the University of Tennessee Knoxville, where he met his wife of 55 years, Karla, in 1967 with a BS in psychology. Then a BS in 1978 in agricultural engineering. Frank served in the Army from 1967 – 1969 and he and his wife moved to Chattanooga in 1992, where he retired as a general contractor.
Frank loved traveling, music, playing horse races, gardening, painting, writing poetry and always had a cat of dog. Frank volunteered with Children’s International Summer Village, Boys/Girls Club, Coaching Soccer and Hospice.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Martha Riddle.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Karla Riddle; son Brian Riddle (wife: Anneli, children: Jolene and Olivia), Jessica Riddle (children: Ashley and Lin McDonough) and Vanessa Riddle; sister, Joy Boyd (husband: Bruce Boyd); Niece: Abadie Belser; Nephew: Kenneth Madden; Great Nephew: Brodie Edwards; and Great Niece: Daisy Edwards.
A Committal Service will be at 10 AM on Monday, February 6, 2023 at Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:30 AM on Monday, February 6, 2023 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Chattanooga High School Center for Creative Arts, 1301 Dallas Road, Chattanooga, TN 37405.
The family is very grateful for all the care he received at The Health Center at Standifer Place for the past 2 ½ years.
