He was born in Ano, Kentucky to the late Edward and Carolyn “Carlie” Louise Bennett. He was preceded in death by his son, Micah Bennett and sister, Nancy Lee Spangler.
Edwin was a member at Brainerd Baptist Church. He was a retired painter and a former member of Painters Local Union 226. Ed served on the Words of Hope Board which does work with orphans and widows in Uganda, Africa. With his servant's heart, he visited people in hospice care and Brainerd Baptist Church members living in nursing homes.
He had a competitive spirit, enjoyed playing cards, board games, and a variety of sports. The more recent rivalries were weekly competitions with his brother at the BX playing billiards, ping-pong and pickle ball.
Known to many as Uncle E or Mr. E for “Ed the Encyclopedia,” he was filled with fun facts, random knowledge, jokes, laughter, wisdom, compassion, and most of all a love for Jesus that he took around the globe! He was always willing to help others any way he could. God’s love flowed out of his life!
Although his physical heart failed him, his love and compassion for others endured until the end.
Survivors include his loving wife of 18 years, Cristine Polce Bennett; children, Eliah Bennett, Josiah (Rona) Bennett, Jason (Natalie) Polce, Jill Polce; granddaughters, Skyler, Emelia Lynn and Lheana Mae Bennett, Luciana, Isabella and Sofia Polce; siblings, Marie Lennon, Edward “Eddie” (Jill) Bennett; nieces, Angi Speck, Brandy (Jason) Ward, Angie Bennett, Sarah Bennett, Amber (Nathan) Frick and many more family and friends.
