Charles Glenn Richardson Jr.

Charles Glenn Richardson, Jr., age 79, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 3, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 30, 1943 in Chattanooga. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and rarely missed any activity his grandchildren were involved in. He was a member of Ooltewah Church of Christ, and served in the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam. He was Past Master and 50 year+ member of Brainerd Lodge 736, a 50 year+ member of Chattanooga Scottish Rite, and a 50 year + member of Alhambra Shrine.

Charles was preceded in death by his mother, Pauline Addison Richardson and father, Charles Glenn Richardson, Sr.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Shirley (Smith) Richardson, son, Chris G. (Michelle) Richardson, and “Papa” to his grandchildren that he adored, twins, Lauren Angela and Colin Gabe Richardson and Maci Catherine Richardson, all of Chattanooga, special niece, Anita Whittenburg Gontarek, several nephews and cousins.

Funeral service will be Friday, April 8, 2022 at 12:00 pm in the chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, East Brainerd Chapel with Denny Howell presiding, a Masonic service will be conducted by Brother Terry Plemons prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Military Honors.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Chattanooga, especially nurse Shelby Goins and CNA Michelle Hicks for their loving and devoted care of Charlie.
