Barry D. Owens, 50, of Chattanooga, TN, passed away Thursday, September 13, 2012. A lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Elbert and Mae Rogers; paternal grandfather, Lester Owens and an uncle, John Rogers. He was employed as a Registered Nurse with Erlanger for the past 20 years and was a member of the Meadowview Baptist Church. He was also veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp serving in Desert Storm. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Marie Owens; two sons, Kevin Owens and Keith Owens; four grandchildren, Maddox, Peirson, Alessa and Jenner; grandmother, Grace Owens; father, Michael Lester Owens; mother, Carol Judy Owens and partner Kelly Wilson; brother, Timothy C. Owens; several aunts and uncles. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be on Monday at 1:30 p.m. in the Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Saturday at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
