Arnold Barker, Jr., 89, of Harrison, TN, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2013. A lifelong resident of Harrison, he was of the Baptist faith and was retired from the U.S. Navy and was a Veteran of W.W. II, having served at Pearl Harbor. He was a member of the USS Hornet Club, Inc. in honor of those who served on the USS Hornet CV/CVA/CVS-12. He was also retired from Olan Mills and was preceded in death by his wife Gladys Barker; four brothers and one sister. Survivors include his five daughters, Marcia (Jerry) Driver, Waco, TX, Becky (Leon) Crowe, Harrison, Kathy (Dale) Bishop, Harrison, Candy (Sonny) Frizzell, Old Hickory, TN and Cindy (Ray) Snyder, Ooltewah; 11 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Valley View Chapel with the Rev. Floyd Robinson and the Rev. Tony Lewis officiating. Interment will be in Harrison Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
