LATHAN FUNERAL HOME CHATOM, AL 847-2129 Beatrice Carpenter Thompson, 83, of Chatom, AL, died Saturday, October 4, 2014, at her residence. Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at 11:00 at Pine Level Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Jones Beech Cemetery. Nelson Thompson and Quentin Butts will officiate. Mrs. Thompson was a native and lifelong resident of Chatom, AL, and a member of Pine Level Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Aster and Audrey Carpenter, her husband, R.C. Thompson, Jr., a brother, H.C. Carpenter, and two sisters, Alberta Garland and Velma Thornton. Survivors include two sons, Carl W. Thompson, Sr. (Suzanne) and Nelson Thompson (Leverne), a daughter, Debbie Thompson Pierson (Marty) all of Hobson, a sister, Doris Thorton (Gene) of Fruitdale, two brothers, A.J. Carpenter and Russel Carpenter (Janice) all of Chatom, seven grandchildren, Lori Johnson (Kent), Carl Wayne “Bud” Thompson, Jr., John Claud “JCO” Owen, Kristi Wilson (Scott), Jeannie Butts (Quentin), Selina Kirksey (Matt), Scherri’ Nader (Walt), and sixteen great-grandchildren, Kody, Kaitlin, Stella, Courtney, Emily, Dakota, Chase, Chance, Mary Catherine, Walker, Andre, Hannah, Hunter, Easton, Trey, and Sidney. Pallbearers include, Scott Wilson, Matt Kirksey, Walt Nader, Bud Thompson, Lloyd Carpenter, Donald Garland, and Bobby Garland. Honorary pallbearers include, Kenneth Thompson, Jerry Thompson, Dean Thompson, Sharon Williams, Connie Thompson, Alfred Manning, Henry Davis, and the Pine Level Family. The family wishes to express a heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Steve Donald and Ascera Care Hospice.
