Janet Carpenter Jordan

Janet Carpenter Jordan, 85, of Chatom, AL passed away November 3, 2017 at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center. She was born July 29, 1932 to Wilson and Evelyn Carpenter. A member of Millry Baptist Church, she enjoyed traveling, especially spending time in Gulf Shores and Gatlinburg, TN. She was a big supporter of her grandchildren’s activities, especially their athletic events. She spent much of her time doing yardwork and preparing her flower gardens. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, William “Billy” Jordan. She is survived by her children, Mike (Betsy) Warrick of Tibbie, Rhonda (Bill) Lucas of Chatom; grandchildren, Haley Warrick Turner, Colby Lucas; step-children, Ken (Linda Gail) Jordan, Marcia (Nelson) Harris, Al (Angie) Jordan, Rebecca (Fields) Scarbrough; four step-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Lathan Funeral Home in Chatom with Bro. Robert Kirkland officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Chatom City Cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers will be Larry Hubbard, Ralph Morris, Gene Loper, Jerry Revette, Henry Ross and Bill Walker.
