Michael Charles Lyons

Michael was born on July 8, 1950 in Dorchester to Charles W. Lyons and Helen (Ferguson) Lyons. After attending school in Dorchester he began working as a meat cutter at age 16 and eventually became a meat manager until he retired at the age of 60. He resided in Wareham for many years before settling in Mashpee in 1991.

Michael enjoyed sports and never missed an opportunity to watch his sons, grandchildren, or nephews game or dance recital. He was a passionate animal lover and his many pets he had over the years brought him great joy. Michael could never turn away any stray that came his way. He enjoyed a good card or cribbage game with friends.

The greatest love of Michael's life was his family. He was kind, supportive, and loving. His great sense of humor could always bring a smile. Michael will be greatly missed by all.

Michael is survived by his wife of 26 years, Holly, his children Stephen Lyons and wife Deborah of Stoughton, David Lyons and his wife Jennifer of Quincy, his stepchildren Stephanie Ormston and husband Robert of Centerville, Timothy Eldredge and wife Rebecca of Blackstone, 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, his siblings Carol Imbornone of Merrimack, NH, Nancy Barry and husband Robert of Onset, Kathy Atkinson and husband Paul of Wareham, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023 from 10 am - 12 pm at Nickerson Funeral Home, 87 Crowell Road, Chatham with a in house service beginning at 12 Noon. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery, Chatham.
