Born in Boston, Massachusetts on October 6, 1939, she moved to the Cape with her parents when she was a child. In 1957 she graduated from Harwich High School with high honors, she then attended about 1 year of College at Framingham State Teachers College.
Valerie settled in Chatham were she opened Chatham Ballet and Dance Arts Center and ran the school for 35 plus years where she taught many generations of families to dance. She was very active with both Harwich and Chatham High School drama productions over the years. She was a member of the Dance Teachers club of Boston and Cape Cod Dance Teachers Association. She was also the first Jester at Harwich Junior Theater in 1953. She served as a member of the Chatham Democratic Committee. She loved gardening and politics and spending time with her family and of course dancing. Be it doing it herself or watching others dance. But most especially teaching others to dance was one of her greatest joys in life.
She is survived by her Children; Karen M. Buck and her partner David Lewis, Daniel W. Buck, Suzanne D Quattrini and her husband Victor, and Marilyn A. Buck, grandchildren; Jason W. Tileston and his wife Devon, Nicholas D. Quattrini, Julia D. Quattrini, Anna I. Quattrini and Alexandra Buck and great grandsons; Wes Tileston and Eli Tileston. She also leaves behind two brothers; Lawrence Bennett and his wife Anne and Jack Bennett and his wife Connie.
Memorial donations in Valerie’s name may be made to any dance or theater company or a
production of your choice. In lieu of a funeral service a “Celebration of her life” gathering is being
