Born in North Adams, Massachusetts in 1932 as the only child of William and Elizabeth Bianco, she graduated from Drury High School in 1950. She received a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics from Our Lady of the Elms College in Chicopee, Massachusetts, and earned a Master’s Degree in education from North Adams State Teachers College, now the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. In August of 1955, she married Francis Gamari, also of North Adams.
She loved teaching, and was especially fond of working with homebound children and children with special needs, a career she enjoyed for over 20 years in the North Adams school system. After retiring from teaching, she and her husband spent many happy winters in Vero Beach, Florida. She loved traveling to Italy and made many friends there when travelling the country. She was especially fond of Andrea Boccelli, and made special trips with her husband to many of his concerts. She was also an avid bridge player for all of her adult life.
She leaves behind her husband of 61 years, Frank Gamari, and her two children, Kathan Tracy, wife of Donald Tracy, MD of Wellesley Massachusetts, and David Gamari, husband of Deborah Gamari of Milford Massachusetts. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Philip and John Tracy, both of Boston, and Benjamin Gamari, with wife Laura of Mannheim, Germany.
