She received her teaching certificate from State Teachers College at Lowell, MA and loved teaching children in both Dunstable and Lowell, MA as well as Rome, NY. Anne met her husband George Meservey while working a summer job in Salisbury Beach, NH. Two years later they were married at St. Rita’s Catholic Church on July 27, 1963. During the course of their marriage, they lived in England for a short time while George was stationed there with the US Air Force, they raised their four children in Chelmsford and Chatham, MA, and were blessed with eighteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. When the children were young Anne was very involved as a leader for the Boy Scouts of America and a Jaycette with the the National Association of Jaycees and had a thriving Amway business in Middlesex County. After raising her children, Anne went on to have a career in banking for 20+ years and retired from Cape Cod Five to then help run her husband’s Massachusetts Real Estate Licensing School.
Anne was very passionate about her faith. She lead Religious Education classes at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chelmsford and spent time in retirement participating in marriage prep classes for the Diocese of Fall River and giving time to St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church’s Thrift Shop. One of Anne's favorite trips was visiting the Vatican in Rome, Italy.
Anne loved to spend time in nature and traveled with family and friends. She spent much time walking through Sylvan Gardens viewing the daffodils and hydrangeas. She enjoyed taking her grandchildren to Chatham band concerts and the annual 4th of July parade through downtown Chatham. She spent time with her husband George oversees in Italy and France, she enjoyed cruises to the Caribbean and Hawaii and traveled to see numerous national parks. She especially loved winter trips to Naples, Florida and enjoyed spending time at the beach or the pond with family whether Florida or Cape Cod. She went to yoga and water aerobics as much as possible even in the later days of life. Family fondly remember the many Fourth of July parties she hosted on the back deck of their Chatham home with a view of Black Pond.
She was diagnosed with an aggressive form of pancreatic cancer in the Spring of 2021 and passed away after a heroic fight in which she spent much time surrounded by family. She was truly loved by all who crossed her path and will be dearly missed.
