Margaret “Jean” Winkler (Allison), 98, of Charlottesville passed away peacefully on Friday, July 12, 2024 at Rosewood Village at Hollymead Town Center.
Jean was born in Aliquippa, PA on November 27, 1925, to the late Carl and Rena (Pettitt) Allison.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, George Heber Winkler, her sister Mabel Jaedecke (Allison) and brother-in-law, Dr. Robert Jaedecke.
During their 60 years together George and Jean lived and travelled extensively throughout the world.
Jean leaves behind her loving children, Ronn Winkler and his wife, Larraine of Eden Prairie, MN; Kristine Cushman and her husband, David of Earlysville; Patricia Barbara of Charlottesville; Kathryn Berger and her husband, Steve of Fishersville, as well as 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
The family will have a private graveside ceremony at Chestnut Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Earlysville, Virginia in the Fall.
Her family thanks the staff of Rosewood Village and Trinity Hospice for the care and compassion they provided.
