Linda G Sharff

Linda Sharff, 81, of Ruckersville, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2024, in Charlottesville. Born on September 22, 1944, in Washington, D.C., to Julian and Marie Georgie, Linda attended Washington & Lee High School in Arlington, Virginia. She married her high school sweetheart, Richard Lee Sharff, on September 3, 1966, in Arlington. After graduating from Longwood University, Linda dedicated her career to educating young minds as a third and fourth-grade teacher at Maybury Elementary School in Henrico County, Virginia, for 30 years. Linda was preceded in death by her loving parents. She is survived by her devoted husband, Richard; her two sons, Richard Jr. and Jeff, and their wives, Dawn and Tami; her brother, Edward; her sisters, Helen and Sharon; and her cherished granddaughters, Ashley, Abby, Julia, Alex, and Livi. A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the MS Society in Linda’s name. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at The Barclays of Charlottesville and Legacy Hospice Care for their compassionate care during Linda’s final days. To her friends and family, she was simply Linda. But to her loved ones, she was known as “Bud,” a tender nickname given by her husband, Rich. This endearing term reflected their lifelong bond as high school sweethearts, devoted spouses, and cherished friends.
