IN THE CARE OF
Teague Funeral Service
John Robert Lambert, Jr., 88, of Troy, Virginia, died on Sunday, February 17, 2019. He passed away surrounded by his family at Martha Jefferson Hospital, as a result of complications following surgery.
Bob was born on March 11, 1930, in Raven, Virginia, and graduated from Richlands High School in 1949. He served in the U.S. Army from 1949 to 1953.
Bob met his beautiful bride to be, Nellie Marie Mustard, of Doran, Virginia, while serving in the Army and they were married in 1953. This Thursday, they would have been married for 66 years.
In 1957, Bob began working for Sperry Marine in Charlottesville and he retired in 1986. Bob was an avid fisherman and fished nearly everywhere on the James River. He also enjoyed spending time with Marie at his mountain cabin and they enjoyed traveling — and especially enjoyed spending time in Arizona.
Bob is survived by his wife, Marie; son, John Robert Lambert, III; daughter, Teresa Marie Lambert; granddaughter, Ashley Marie Wheeler, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will greet friends from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, on Thursday, February 21, 2019, at Teague Funeral Home. The burial service will be held on Friday, February 22, 2019, at 2:30 PM, at Holly Memorial Gardens in Charlottesville. Memorials can be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Charlottesville.
