Frank Allen Shemansky Jr.

Frank Shemansky, Jr, 60, of Charlottesville, passed away on July 26, 2021. Frank was born on March 27,1961, to Frank and Nancy Shemansky. Frank was one of the first in his family to attend college and he graduated with a Doctorate in Chemical Engineering attending Penn State and Arizona State Universities. He was an executive in the semiconductor industry and one of the first inventors of the MEMS accelerometer. He had a passion for engineering problem solving and his hobbies of fly fishing and wood working. Frank is survived by his wife, Melissa Grupen-Shemansky who he met at Penn State University. They recently celebrated their 35th anniversary. Frank is also survived by his beloved children, Broderick Allen Shemansky and Danae Elise Shemansky. A celebration of Frank's life will be held at a later date.
