Emmett Randolph Marks, 78, of Charlottesville, went home to be with the Lord Monday, April 4, 2016 at his home. Born April 19, 1937 in Charlottesville he was a son of the late Rufus Walker and Edna Sprouse Marks. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife of 49 years, Linda Murray Marks; brothers, Edward “Chunk” Marks and Earl Marks; and sisters, Thelma “Doll” Martin and Mary “Shugie” Woodson. Emmett is survived by his children Roger L. Marks, Michael W. Marks, Sherry M. Lam and her husband Keith, and Donna M. Snow and her husband Kevin; a child he raised and loved as his own daughter, Kaylyn R. Knight and her husband Chris; twelve grandchildren, Justin Marks, Kristi Lam, K.J. Lam, Amber Lam, Tori Lam, Jeremy Snow, Jared Snow, Carlie Snow, Kelsey Knight, Tyler Knight, Kayleigh Knight, and a special grandson that he raised, Todd Marks; eight great-grandchildren, Ryan and Noah Mowbray, Trey and Aubrey Lam, Mason and Gage Snow, Kayden Musselman, and Avery Snow. He is also survived by extended family member, Herman “Jay” Graham and numerous nieces and nephews. He retired from W.A. Lynch Roofing Co. after many years of service. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Teague Funeral Home by the Reverend Ronnie Sipe. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens.
