Bruce Harper passed away the evening of July 22, 2023 after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Michigan and grew up in Ohio. He graduated from Hoover High School in North Canton, Ohio. He worked at Timken Roller Bearing Company for more than 10 years before becoming a water plant operator in Florida and Virginia for 25 years.
He was married to Christine Harper, his wife of 39 years. He is survived by his wife, Christine, two sisters, Sharon (Nan), Celeste (Donnie), and brother-in-law Steven (Marianna), and six nieces and nephews, Cierra, Marina, Kaelyn, Elizabeth, Jamie, and Connor.
Bruce loved to fish and go boating, go camping, play cards, go to air shows, do zig saw puzzles, read and spend time at his cottage in the Northern Neck of Virginia. Bruce was also a HAM radio operator call sign was N8DQG.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of the Piedmont or the Lake Monticello Fire and Rescue Squad.
