Betty Jo Robertson

Betty Jo Robertson, 73, of Troy went home to be with her Lord on November 26, 2024 at the Hospice House in Charlottesville, VA after a short, but courageous battle with Leukemia. Betty was native to Virginia, born on May 9, 1951 to the late Woodrow W. Shipp and Dorothy (Knight) Johnson. Betty enjoyed many hobbies and past times, including gardening, crafting and traveling, but most of all spending time with her grandkids. She was an animal lover and thought the world of her cat Miss Sunshine and her three grand dogs. She was a longtime member of the Charlottesville BPOE Doe Club of Elks and the previous Charlottesville Women of the Moose. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Mason Robertson. Betty is survived by her loving daughter, Diane Gunsallus and her husband, Corbin of Charlottesville; her granddaughter, Lindsay Arellano and her husband, Dylan; her grandson, Logan Gunsallus and his wife, Sierra; her sister, Rose Maynor (Donita); her sister Brenda Johnson; her brother Charles Johnson; a very special niece, Joanne Britts Roach (Pat) and a wonderful niece Alicia Maynor; many cousins and lots of loving friends, including her long time best friend Donna Scruggs. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, November 29, 2024 at Monticello Memory Gardens, 670 Thomas Jefferson Parkway Charlottesville VA 22902. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes you’d consider a memorial donation in Betty’s honor to the Fluvanna County SPCA.
