Yvette Roberts Neel

Yvette Roberts Neel, age 91, died Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at Sharon Towers. Born in Charlotte on April 28, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Arthur Carlson and Katherine Price Roberts. Mrs. Neel graduated from Central High School and attended Mars Hill College. She worked in the home office of S&W Cafeterias and later worked ten years in the cafeteria of Sharon School. Mrs. Neel was a member of Steele Creek Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School, was a Circle Chairman and a Cub Scout Leader. She was also a member of the Community Bible Class. Mrs. Neel will be remembered as a loving wife and mother who was devoted to her family.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:30AM, Saturday, March 8 at Steele Creek Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. W. Jeff Pinkston and the Rev. Valerie H. Phillips officiating. The family will receive friends in the church parlor from 10:30AM to 11:30AM prior to the memorial service. Mrs. Neel will be buried in the church cemetery prior to the service and receiving of friends.

Mrs. Neel is survived by two sons, W. Erskine Neel, Jr. and wife Donna, of Weddington, David A. Neel and wife Ann, of Charlotte; four grandchildren, Christopher Neel and wife Gina, of Lilburn, GA, Jonathan Neel and wife Ashley, of Charlotte, Kevin Neel, of Greensboro, Jennifer Neel, of Asheville, and many dear nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Neel was preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty-three years, Worth Erskine Neel, Sr.

The family wishes to thank the loving and attentive staff at Sharon Towers for their faithful care, as well as her home caregivers Ella, Joeann, Janice and Rhonda.
