After a courageous battle with acute congestive heart failure, the kindest, most amazing man I’ve ever known on this earth passed from his earthly life into the arms of His Heavenly Father on Sunday morning, August 21, 2016. I was blessed beyond measure to have him as my earthly Dad.
William Thomas Davis was born in Pineville, NC on May 2, 1927 to James B. Davis, Sr and Mary Bell Davis. He served in the US Navy during WWII and upon discharge met and married Mildred Trull Davis. He was a loving and devoted husband for almost 70 years. He retired from R. H. Bouligny Company after 43 years of dedicated service. Mr. Davis had a deep love for and was proud of his family, as they were of him. He had a servant’s heart and a willingness to be of help to everyone.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred, his children Lonnie Davis and wife, Erlene of Lawrenceville, GA, Libby Wyatt and husband, Kim of Concord, NC, his grandsons Christopher Davis, Chad Tucker and wife, Crystal and Matthew Tucker and wife, Angela and his five great-grandchildren Madison, Jessica, Oliver, Canaan and Knox Tucker, a sister Dorothy Conder, and a brother Hayward Davis. He was preceded by his parents, two brothers and an infant sister.
Praise be to God for the example he was to everyone who had the honor of knowing him.
A Memorial Service will take place at McEwen Funeral Service, Derita Chapel on Monday, August 29, 2016 beginning at 7:00pm.
Arrangements under the direction of McEwen Funeral Services, Charlotte, NC.
