Wade Strong Jackson

Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, December 30th in the Paul Helton Chapel of Forest Lawn West Funeral Home with Reverend Jack Homesley officiating. Interment will follow the service in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior (10 to 11am) to the service.

Wade was born on July 15, 1925 in Charlotte and was the son of the late Charles Thomas and Riller Davis Jackson. He was a life-long member of Hoskins Avenue Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Choir member and a member of the Shepherds of Song Singing Group. He actively coached youth baseball and was an avid golfer. He was retired from CSX Railroad.

Surviving family members are his wife of 70 years, Jean Jackson; children, Jeff Jackson (Carolyn) of Huntersville, NC, Joan Jones of Clover, SC, and David

Jackson (Carrie) of Denver, NC.; grandchildren, Alicia Hunter, Lindsey Eppley (Logan), Colby Jackson, Anna Vick (Chris), Benjamin Jackson, Abbi Jackson, and Carson Jackson; one great grandchild, Emerson Eppley, and a sister-in-law, Audrey Jackson of Charlotte.

He was preceded in death by his parents, six sisters, and three brothers.
