Theodore Erwin Hilton

Born in Thomasboro, NC on September 3, 1937, he was a son of the late Robert and Mary Lola Hilton.

An Airman 2nd Class, Mr. Hilton had served with the US Air Force at Sewart Air Force base in Smyrna, TN.

He was a master woodcarver, earning 2 first place Blue Ribbons for his woodcarvings, and was a member of the Southern Performance Ford Club.

Mr. Hilton retired from Joseph T. Ryerson and Son where he was employed as a quality control manager.

A son, Theodore Erwin Hilton, Jr. preceded him in death.

Surviving is his wife, whom he married December 8, 1957, Gretchen Verran Hilton; a daughter, Terry Peterson and her husband, Ric; a son William L. Hilton and his wife, Paula; 4 granddaughters, Cheyenne, Addison, Ryleigh and Kayla; and 1 great granddaughter, Bailey Ann Hilton.

Friends may visit Thursday, February 16, 2017 at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Rd., Charlotte, NC 28212 where the family will be present from 7 to 8 pm.

Graveside services, military honors and burial are planned for 11:00 am Friday, February 17, 2017 at Sharon Memorial Park.
