Sybil Youngblood (née Langley), a longtime resident of Indian Trail, died on February 20, 2018, at the age of 89.
Mrs. Youngblood is survived by her daughter Glenda Youngblood Yarbrough (Dell) of Branford, CT, grandsons Gray Langley Yarbrough of Chicago and Miller Thomas Yarbrough also of Branford, and her dearest friend, LaVerne Sizemore of Charlotte. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 40 years, Glenn Thomas Youngblood, who passed away in 1991.
Mrs. Youngblood was born in Chesterfield County, South Carolina to Spofford E. and Sue Clifton Langley. She graduated from Pageland High School in 1945 and married her beloved Glenn that same year. She worked at Southern Bell (BellSouth/AT&T) in Charlotte for some 40-plus years, retiring in 1990 to care for her ailing husband.
Sybil Youngblood will be remembered for her intelligence, her big heart, her wit and her love of animals.
A graveside memorial took place on February 22 at McEwen Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte.
