He was born in Dayton, Ohio on August 6, 1971, graduated from Wayne High School in Huber Heights, Ohio in June of 1990, then went on to receive his Associates Degree in May of 2019.
Scottie joined the United States Marine Corps in June of 1990. He entered as a Combat Engineer, served a tour in Iraq from 2005-2006 and retired at the rank of Gunnery Sergeant as a Motor Transportation Chief in June of 2010.
In April of 2011, he joined the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department. He was with the Independence Division, including CRU through 2018 when he was promoted to Sergeant. Scottie also worked with the Hickory Grove Division as both a second and third shift Sergeant until he joined the Crime Gun Suppression Team.
His hobbies included his 4 kids and 8 grandkids, his dogs, Mattis and Kiko and granddog, Zeke, camping at Ocean Lakes, “leg day”, his motorcycle, cooking for his family, gardening, being a "YouTube" handyman...but most importantly, making everyone laugh. His smile was infectious.
He leaves behind his wife of 33 years, Michelle Glascock Carson of Huber Heights, Ohio.
His son Brandon Carson, daughters; Alexis Cerven (Matt), Hayley Carson (Logan Craven) and Quinn Lister (TJ).
Grandkids; Caroline, Londyn, Belle, Ezra, Colton, Brinley, Caden, Aven and Baby Lister on the way.
His mother, Dessie Ross McIntosh and sister, Niki Carson. He was predeceased by his father, Paul Carson.
A memorial service for Scottie will be held Wednesday, July 19th, 2023 at 12:00PM at First Baptist Church of Charlotte, 301 South Davidson Street, Charlotte, North Carolina 28202.
