Sarah Lillian Kinard

Sarah Lillian Still Kinard, age 89, died Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Sherrills Ford Hospice House. Born in Denmark, SC on October 2, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Tom E. Kinard and Alda Still Kinard. Mrs. Kinard was raised by her late grandparents, Joseph and Sally Ray Still. She was a long time member of Newell Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking, working with flowers and working her yard. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest love.

A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 1:30PM, Wednesday, January 25th at Newell Baptist Church with Rev. Donald Cline of Mt. Anderson Baptist Church, Rev. Jason Myers and Mr. Earl Wingate speaking for the family. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The visitation will be held from Noon to 1:30PM, Wednesday, at the church prior to the funeral.

Mrs. Kinard is survived by a daughter, Sarah Wingate and husband Earl, of Sherrills Ford; three sons, Joey Kinard and wife Kitty, of Harrisburg, NC, Bobby Kinard and wife Angela, of Mt. Pleasant, NC, Steven Kinard and wife Robin, of Harrisburg, NC; eight grandchildren Robbie Kinard and wife Tina, Tammy Lawley and husband Tom, Matthew Wingate and wife Loretta, Mst/Sgt Bryant K. Billingsley and wife Kelly, Kim Dawrs and husband Stu, Wendy Safrit and husband Keith, Michael Kinard, Joseph “Bo” Kinard and ten great-grandchildren, Taylor and Tommy Lawley, Alexa and Cortney Wingate, Ava and Grant Kinard, Lily and Oscar Dawrs and Allison and Kyle Safrit.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Kinard was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Joseph G. Kinard, Sr.
