Ruth was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and a friend to many. She was the mother of four children and devoted the first half of her life to raising her children with her husband Tom. She and Tom moved their family to Mint Hill in 1975. After the passing of her husband and her children were grown, Ruth became an avid golfer. She was a member of the Larkhaven Golf Club Women’s League, the Charlotte singles golf group, and played golf with many close friends including her good friend Buck.
Ruth also enjoyed traveling, bowling, and playing cards. She was social and enjoyed the company of her friends and family. She was generous with her time and resources to help those in need, lending a helping hand to many. She traveled the world with her good friend Diane, traveling to 20 different countries in their time together. One of Ruth's favorite pastimes was watching the Golden Girls on TV, and she was most similar to Sophia.
Ruth will be fondly remembered for her directness, candor and strength. She cared deeply about her friends and family, and she will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will be cherished, and her spirit will never be forgotten.
