Rull Austin Holland

Rull retired from the US Navy after 20+ years of service. The bombing of Pearl Harbor occurred while he was in Basic Training. He continued his service throughout WWII and the Korean War. After his retirement, Rull worked as a private security officer for many years. In 1977, he married the love of his life, Oleen Bradshaw. Rull was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Samuel Ray and Elmer Holland and stepson, Virgil Price.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Oleen; his daughter, Linda Hathcock; grandsons, Virgil (Christina) Price II, Andy Watson and CJ Hathcock; granddaughter, Michelle (Michael) Sissom; great-grandchildren, Virgil III and Angela Price, McKenzie and Brian Jr. Thomas, Shelbie, Colby and Cody Watson; sisters, Bess (Denford) Oxendine and Lucy Baker; brother, Manuel Holland; nephew, Denny Oxendine; and niece, Laura McFadden.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00pm on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at McEwen Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews Mint Hill Rd., Charlotte, NC 28227. Funeral services will follow at 2:00pm in the chapel. Interment will be at Sharon Memorial Park.
