He was born on August 5, 1943 in Charlotte, NC to Janie (Overcash) Wyatt and James Harold Wyatt.
Robert graduated from Harry P. Harding High School and was a member of the first class of mechanics at Central Industrial Education Center, which is now known as Central Piedmont Community College. He worked for various businesses in Charlotte, such as Folger Buick, Dillon Supply, and McLeod Equipment, before starting his own forklift business – Charlotte Lift-Truck Service, Inc. Robert was a faithful member of Enderly Park Baptist Church.
In his free time, Robert found great joy in fishing, baking, and spending time with his large family, including his brothers and sisters.
Those left to remember Robert include his loving wife of 59 years, Ann A. Wyatt; his children, Robert Wyatt, Jr., and his wife Lisa of Gastonia, Amy Mallol and her husband Leonard of Fuquay-Varina, Kimberly Wyatt of Mt. Holly; his special niece whom he considered his own, Megan H. Warren and her husband Andy; his grandchildren, Hailey Wyatt, Cassidy Wyatt, Rebecca Mallol, Leonard J. Mallol, and Amelia Mallol; his siblings, Amy W. Russell, Ruth W. Kirby and her husband Max, Joseph C. Wyatt and his wife Becky, his sister-in-law Jean Wyatt, and his sister-in-law Peg Allred; as well as numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Robert is now reunited in Heaven with his parents, Janie and Harold; his daughter, Ronda Wyatt; his brothers, James P. Wyatt and Larry W. Wyatt; his sister, Patricia W. Starnes; his brother-in-law, Gilbert Russell; and his sister-in-law, Judy Holtsclaw.
The family will receive friends from 10:00am until 11:00am on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at Forest Lawn West Funeral & Cremation Service, 4601 Freedom Dr., Charlotte, NC. There will be a graveside service in Forest Lawn West Cemetery at 11:00am following the visitation. The service will be officiated by the Wyatt family’s special friend, Rev. James Neese, Associate Pastor of Paul’s Chapel Reformed Church in Lexington, NC.
