Robert L. Mullis

Robert L. Mullis, 83, of Iron Station, passed away August 30, 2020 in Huntersville. Born August 5, 1937 in Mecklenburg County, he was the son of Johnnie Lee and Thelma (Foster) Mullis. He was the husband of the late Linda E. Mullis who preceded him in death February 14, 2011.

A Veteran of the U.S. Army, 101st Airborne, Robert served his country during the Lebanon Crisis. He retired from the trucking business after 52 years of driving.

Survivors include his sons, Tony (Kim) Mullis and Bobby (Nancy) C. Mullis; grandchildren, Jessica Amber Mullis, Tyler Lee Mullis, Kayann Mullis, Clayton Clifton Mullis and Cole Austin Mullis; great-grandchild, Ramsey Lee Mullis.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife, parents and his brother, Ted Mullis.

Funeral Service 12 p.m. Thursday, September 3, 2020 at Castanea Community Church, 14815 Lucia Riverbend Hwy, Stanley. Visitation 11 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial in Gethsemane Cemetery & Memorial Gardens, Charlotte.
