Mike is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Susan, two daughters, Michelle Williamson (Kent Booth), Ashley Dalton, two step sons, Jason and Nathan Filer, and two granddaughters Sasha and Trinity Dalton. Sisters Marie Wallace (Kinney) of Locust, Joyce Henry of Lilesville, Carol McCuiston (Barry) of Peachland and a brother Jerry of Seattle. Also a very special niece, Stacy Harrington (Hugh) of Peachland. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Larry and the mother of his daughters, Leah.
Mike attended Anson and Bowman High where he excelled in the classroom and in sports, earning him a full baseball scholarship to UNC Chapel Hill. He was probably best known in Charlotte as the South Park Burger King manager during Hurricane Hugo. Over the years he also worked in HR/ Recruiting for Cracker Barrel, Osprey Systems, Software Technology and SonaVision. After retiring he worked part-time as a driver for Hertz. Mike was an avid Tarheel fan, softball player, golfer, Umpire/Referee, and gardener until Rheumatoid and Osteoarthritis got the best of him. He loved his God, family, friends, and pets; Dexter, Sheldon, and Lily. He was member of Providence Baptist Church.
Per his request, there will be no funeral service or calling hours. There will be a celebration of his life at a later date.
