Robert M. Allen

Bobby is survived by his loving wife, Sue Lamberth Allen of Mobile and his son, Charles “Chuck” Allen (Barry Beasley) of Charlotte. Additionally, he is survived by his sisters, Grace Allen Vogel of Charlotte and Sylvia Allen Kinney (John Kinney) of Chicago; his niece, Kim Allen Spencer (Jon) of Charlotte; his brother-in-law, Art Lamberth (Mary Lamberth) of Tallassee, AL; and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Terry Elmo Allen.

Bobby was a graduate of Harding. After attending Charlotte College and Wake Forest University, Bobby moved to Mobile, AL, where he married the love of his life, Sue, in 1963. They established a home and purchased property in Theodore, AL, which eventually transformed into a working farm complete with livestock and produce.

Bobby was an entrepreneur of many business ventures in Alabama over his lifetime. As a Christian he served as a deacon and was an avid student of the Bible. In his later years he taught the Bible at a local seminary in the Mobile area.

Sue remained with Bobby throughout his life. Her 50 plus years nursing skills and devotion allowed her to care for him at home as his illness progressed.

A visitation for Bobby will be held Tuesday, May 16, 2023, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at McEwen Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Rd., Charlotte, NC 28210. A celebration of life will occur Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at 11:00 am at the McEwen Pineville Chapel.
