On October 31, 2018 Richard (Rick) Lee Evans, formerly of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania passed away in Mint Hill, North Carolina. He was fifty-five years old. Rick was a lifelong musician playing and singing in bands throughout the Pittsburgh area. He played with Bang, Joker, and most recently Southern Spirits Band. He was also a mental health counselor, obtaining his master’s degree from Geneva College in Beaver, Pennsylvania. He was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, and enjoyed rooting for his home teams. He liked working in his yard, cooking for his family, and watching movies.
Rick loved talking to people, and had many old friends in the Pittsburgh area, as well as new friends in North Carolina. He was always eager to help in any way he could and would go out of his way to help those in need. Rick was Christian by faith, loved God and knew salvation through his son Jesus Christ.
Rick was born on August 7, 1963 the son of the late John Stuart Evans and Agnes Bruun Evans.
Rick is survived by his wife, Denise Anne Evans whom he married on November 11, 2011. Also surviving, are his children Dee Dee Evans, John Evans, and William (Billy) Evans and his wife Kayley, stepchildren Mary (Josh) Moore and Leigh Anne (Ryan) Miller. He was the proud grandfather of Joshua Moore, Silas Miller, and Elise Miller.
His stepmother, Estelle Evans also survives, as well as his mother in law Mary Lou Barton.
He is survived by his siblings John (Cindi) Evans, Michael (Stacey) Evans, Daniel (Karen) Evans, and Kathryn (Dan) Griffee. Brothers in law, Daniel (Lisa) Barton and Michael (Tammy) Barton also survive.
He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins, along with many special friends.
Rick was loved by many people and will be dearly missed.
Services will be Friday, November 9, 2018 at McEwen Funeral Home, 7428 Matthews- Mint Hill Road, in Mint Hill, North Carolina.
Friends may call from 9:00 am until 11:00 am, with services at the funeral home beginning at 11:00am.
