Raymond Francis Old

Born August 8, 1941 in Norfolk, Virginia, he was a son of the late Lenard Arthur Old, Sr., and Virginia Charlton Old.

After college he served in the U. S. Amy in El Paso, Texas. He then began his career, first with Shell Oil Company, and then as owner of several service stations including Eastland Shell Service Center where he formed many lifelong friendships with employees and customers.

Ray was a man of faith and was a kind, gentle, loving and generous husband, father, brother and friend.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Annette Harrell Old, and their daughter, Deborah Lynn Old, as well as his brothers Larry Charlton Old of Chesapeake, Virginia and Wayne David Old of Virginia Beach, Virginia. In addition to his parents, a brother, Lenard Arthur Old, Jr., preceded him in death. Ray is also survived by nine nieces and eight nephews.

A service to celebrate Ray’s life will be held at McEwen Funeral Home – Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Rd., Charlotte, NC 28210 on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 2 pm. The family will receive friends afterwards.

Private interment will be at Sardis Presbyterian Church.
