Pina Harwood Nance went to be with the Lord on February 16, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Stanly County in 1929, to Eli and Bertha Harwood, the youngest of their five children. Pina married Ray Lee Nance Sr. in 1948, and they had three sons.
Pina was very active at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church throughout her adult life and was well loved by many in the Oakdale community. She was an avid gardener and was well known for her beautiful flowers that the neighborhood adored. Pina loved to cook big southern meals for her family and for anyone else who dropped by. She would often bake treats for family, neighbors, and friends.
Pina believed on the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior, and she served him her whole life. As her earthly body was weakening, she looked forward to spending eternity with the Lord.
Pina was predeceased by her parents, siblings Marvin, Rachel, and Boyd, as well as her husband Ray.
She is survived by her sons Terry (Elaine), Rick (Brenda) and Lee (Marsha); grandchildren Jennifer, Lee, Jeremy, Tyler, Corrie, Kayla, Kerry, and Melanie; and sixteen great grandchildren.
