He was born February 3, 1956 to Russell and Theresa Casciolini Fairweather, Jr. in Framingham, Massachusetts. He grew up in Ashland, Massachusetts then moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee where he attended Red Bank High School, and graduated from Chattanooga High School in 1974.
Peter attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and Chattanooga State Technical College. While in Tennessee he worked for Chattanooga Coca Cola Company before relocating to Hudson, North Carolina in the mid-1980's. In Hudson, North Carolina, he started his thirty-year career in the textile industry working first for Holiday Hosiery, then Ellis Hosiery (Hickory, NC), and retiring in 2015 with Royce Too, LLC.
Peter was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Dennis Fairweather. He is survived by his three brothers: Robert Fairweather, Michael and Carol Fairweather, and David and Narda Fairweather. He is also survived by his two sons: Matthew and wife Elizabeth, of Charlotte, NC and Alex Fairweather, also of Charlotte, NC, as well as his granddaughter, June Fairweather.
He was a loving father who's greatest joy was watching his sons play baseball, first for West Caldwell High School in Lenior, North Carolina and then at Catawba College in Salisbury, North Carolina. He was a lover of anything out of doors--whether it be gardening or golfing, and most recently, attending football games in Charlotte with his sons.
A memorial service will be held in his honor at the McEwen Pineville Chapel on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 2:00pm. A Celebration of Life will be held in down town Chattanooga, on May 11, 2019, time and location will added to the Red Bank High School Class of 1973 Facebook group.
