Perry Earl Hawkins

Mr. Hawkins, age 83, of Charlotte, died Monday, February 13, 2012 at Carolinas Medical Center - NorthEast. Born February 7, 1929 in Greenville, SC, he was a son of the late Henry A. Hawkins and Lida Hamby Hawkins. Mr. Hawkins served in the U.S. Marines. He retired as owner/pharmacist of Plaza Hills Pharmacy.

The memorial service to celebrate the life of Perry Earl Hawkins will be held 7:00 PM Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Wilson Funeral & Cremation Service with Pastor Albert Johnston, officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private.

Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Christine Roberts Hawkins of the home; two sons, Ken Hawkins and his wife, Oneyda and Donny Kiser, of Charlotte; a daughter, Kathie H. Reynolds and her husband, Keith, of Nashville, TN; two brothers, Emory “Bud” Hawkins and Alvin Hawkins; a sister, Gladys Garner; a special brother-in-law, Bobby Roberts; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hawkins was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry Hawkins and Grady Hawkins and a sister, Inez Rich.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Maranatha Baptist Church, 3036 Rocky River Road, Charlotte, NC 28215.
