Peggy B Gandy

Peggy was born in Albemarle, NC and lived most of her life in Charlotte. She graduated from Central High School and Queens College, where she was the president of Kappa Delta Sorority her senior year. She was a high school English teacher and a member of the honorary teachers’ organization Delta Kappa Gamma. She was an active member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, where she was an elder and served on many committees. She was strong in her faith and was always welcoming to any new member who might visit. She was also a long time volunteer with the meals program, Friendship Trays, including serving on the Board of Directors.

Peggy loved being at the beach, reading and spending time with her friends either playing bridge or visiting. She is going to be missed by all who knew her, especially her bridge club friends who are like a second family. She was most proud of her three grandchildren, Jimmy, Molly and Sarah Emily. They were the light of her life and her pride and joy.

Peggy was preceded in death by her mother and father, Lucille Caldwell Bedsol and Amos Carl Bedsol; her sister, Erleen Bedsol Willis; and her best friend, her husband James (Jim) Gandy, Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, Sarah Catherine Gandy Click (Cathy) and husband Dan Click; grandchildren James Daniel (Jimmy), Molly Catherine, and Sarah Emily Click; and nephew Carl Sanders. She is also survived by an extended family that loved her dearly.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, July 8th, at 2:00, with a reception to follow in the Church Parlor, at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 3115 Providence Road. The family is asking everyone to wear something blue or pink, Peggy’s favorite colors. The family asks that you come to celebrate a life well lived.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff on 4C at Novant Main and the Harris Hospice House for the care they provided to Peggy and her family.
