Charlotte - Patricia Anne Sibben, 84, passed away September 27, 2015 at Levine & Dickson Hospice House at Southminster. She was born June 16, 1931 in Mountain Top, Pa. to the late Harriet Cary Zerfoss and Lester Frank Zerfoss.
Mrs. Sibben received her master of education degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. She taught elementary education in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System for 32 years, and had last taught at McAlpine Elementary prior to her retirement.
Mrs. Sibben was a member of Providence United Methodist Church. She volunteered for 20 years as a patient representative for the Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute at Carolinas Medical Center. She eased many people's minds as either they or their family members faced cardiac procedures and surgeries.
The joy of her life was her family, and especially her grandchildren. She was a best friend to us all. She cherished all of her friendships, and had friends that reached back to childhood.
Mrs. Sibben was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Daly Sibben; son, Mark Thomas Sibben; and brother; Clinton Zerfoss. She is survived by a daughter, Kristin Sibben Daly and husband James Marc Daly, of Charlotte; daughter-in-law, Katherine (Casey) Sibben, of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; granddaughter, Erin Leigh Sibben Stewart and husband Benjamin, of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; grandson, Christopher Cary Sibben and wife Melody, of Alpharetta, Ga.; brother, Robert Zerfoss of Simpsonville, S.C.; and many loving nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses and assistants at Carolinas Medical Center and Carolinas Rehabilitation for their wonderful care; also, the Levine & Dickson Hospice House at Southminster for their tender and loving care to Mrs. Sibben and all of her family.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 10th, at Providence United Methodist Church, 2810 Providence Road, Charlotte, with the Rev. Bill Jeffries officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church atrium.
