Mike was an intelligent, kind and respectful man, who made an impact on so many lives. 

He had a great sense of humor and I consider myself lucky to have learned under him. 

My thoughts and prayers go out to the friends and family who mourn him now and always. 

I only knew Mike as “The Trainer” when I was at Ally. It’s sad to know Mike is not with us anymore. When I left Ally and started my new job I would think of him, and hear his voice say a few phrases;

“Be curios” he once said was important to develop and find success.

“Don’t go down that rabbit hole” know what you’re saying, avoid providing unnecessary verbiage.

“They’ll be good days and bad days” that’s just life, we got to keep going and look forward to the good days.

“Let’s take a break, let's come back in 20” learning something new can be challenging and overwhelming, it's ok to take those extra 5 minutes to refocus. 

My husband and Mike were co-workers and friends. I had the pleasure of meeting him when he invited us to go on a hike one weekend. From that one meeting, I found Mike to be a very nice, light hearted, and good natured man. My husband has had nothing but good things and high praise to say when he speaks of Mike. We were so sorry to hear of his passing. This loss has hit my husband hard.  We send our most sincere condolences and prayers to the Rasmussen family for the loss of this most cherished man. May he rest in peace for eternity.


Mike was our neighbor and the type of kid you wanted your children to hang out with. We were always glad to have Mike at our house. He was kind, cheerful and willing to help. I loved his smile. I was sad we lost touch over the years and often thought about him and wondered how he was doing. We are truly sorry for his family’s loss. 

Mike was such a sweet soul. I enjoyed his kind nature and friendship. He will be missed but I am grateful to have known him, as I will always have fond memories of Mike. My mom and I were just talking about him, wondered what he was doing and where he was living. Sad to know we cannot pick up where we left off. May God Bless his family!

 I couldn't have asked for a better friend and neighbor growing up. So many fond memories from those years in Neosho.
I missed Mike's smile, laugh and sense of adventure over the years. We moved miles apart, had families and lost touch but I'll never forget all the times we spent together. 
Mike will be missed by all who had the wonderful opportunity to have known him.

What a dear friend, cross country team mate, and neighbor.  The Townsend’s couldn’t have asked for a better neighbor or friend than Mike.  He was truly one of a kind!  Funny, smart, adventurous and always laughing and making others laugh. 
Mike  was always up for a long run or a triathlon.  He would drive anywhere for 5 or 10k road race. 
We have such fond memories of Mike.  I am so sorry we lost touch with him after he moved to North Carolina. My  deepest sympathy and prayers of comfort for his family- Pat, Dave, Scott, Anne and Cindy and of course his children Ashley and Benjamin.  

We will truly miss Mike. We loved his boyish smile and little chuckle. We were lucky to have been neighbors and friends with Mike and Kathy in Jonas Ridge and continued to keep in touch after we moved.  We will miss our trips to the river and cook outs with all of our dogs ripping and romping around. The world was a better place since Mike was here.

Michael “Mike” David Rasmussen,
58, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away suddenly Wednesday, November 30, 2022.  He was born January 6, 1964 in Indianapolis, Indiana to David and Patricia Rasmussen.  Mike graduated from Neosho High School, Neosho, Missouri, Class of 1982.  He received his bachelor’s degree from Southwest Missouri State.  Upon graduation, Mike began a career in finance with Edward D. Jones.  He finished his last 15 years of his career at TradeKing/Ally Investments in Charlotte.  Mike was a fitness maniac.  He enjoyed all things outdoors: triathlons, swimming, biking, running, working out at CrossFit and especially hiking all over with his significant other Cathy Lacienski. He truly enjoyed hiking the Appalachian Trail.  Mike had already hiked 1,950 miles of the trail and only had 240 miles to finish the entire trek of the trail.  He loved spending time in the fresh, cool air of the mountains and getting close with nature.  Mike was a loving and kind family man.  He loved his kids, family and animals.  He had a quick wit and a sly smile that anyone would love.
    Mike is survived by his children, Ashley Rasmussen and Ben Rasmussen; parents, David and Patricia Rasmussen; brother, Scott Rasmussen; sisters, Ann Reed and Cyndi Calhoun; and his beloved dog, Lily.
