Mary Lee Whitaker, age 84 of Charlotte, wife of the late William Arthur Whitaker, passed away April 27, 2014. A lifelong resident of Charlotte, she was the daughter of the late Fredrick J. and Thelma C. Alexander Kennedy. Mrs. Whitaker was an active, Charter Member of Garr Memorial Church in Charlotte since the 1940s.
She is survived by 3 children; Randy Whitaker(Cathy) of Pineville, NC, Ron Whitaker of Charlotte and Don Whitaker of Charlotte; a sister Faye Craig of Wilmington and a brother Herman Kennedy of Charlotte; granddaughter Amanda Rollins(Danny) of Greenville, SC and great granddaughter Addison Rollins. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, 2PM in the Paul Helton Chapel of Forest Lawn West Funeral Home, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
