Mary Mast Preslar

Mary is survived by her daughter Shannon Peck (Russell) of Charlotte, her son Anthony Preslar of the home, several extended family members, and her dearest friend Mary McGuire of Boone.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold F. Preslar, Jr; her father, Gilbert F. Mast; her mother, Olive T. Mast; and her sister Kathryn Mast.

Mary was born on September 24, 1939 in Boone, NC. She spent her entire youth there until moving to Roanoke, VA immediately after high school to attend business college.

After completing her college education, she moved to Charlotte, NC; where she met the love of her life. She was a stay at home mom while raising their two children.

Mary was a headstrong woman, but was also very loving & kind. Music was always a big part of her life—from her days as majorette in high school, to singing in the church choir with her daughter. She also loved being outdoors, enjoying the sounds of nature while working in her flower gardens.

A celebration of life will be held on Monday July 1, 2024 at McEwen Funeral Services Sharon Memorial Park; 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte. Visitation & remembrance service from 11:00-1:00, and burial immediately following at the cemetery at Sharon Memorial.

In lieu of flowers any desired donation may be made to Glioblastoma Foundation.
