Mark Timothy Cain

Mark was born on February 2, 1949 in Albemarle, N.C. to the late Love DeWitt (L.D.) and Sue Morgan Cain.

He graduated from Albemarle High School in 1967. He then attended Wingate University and graduated from N.C. State University with a B.S. in Textiles. Mark also attended UNC Charlotte and earned a B.S. in Business Administration.

During his career he worked at Springs Mills, Collins and Aikman, Schrader Automotive, and Southern Precision Springs and retired in 2008. Mark enjoyed beach music, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. He was fun-loving, and entertained his friends with his quick wit. Mark was an avid sports fan, history buff, and enjoyed playing golf. In spite of suffering from severe rheumatoid arthritis, he lived his life with determination and courage. Mark will truly be missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Susan Gathings Cain and their daughter, Jennifer Morgan Cain, who attends UNC Greensboro; his brother, Eric Cain and his wife Ruth of Albemarle, NC; nephew, Seth Cain and his wife Anna and family of Misenheimer, NC.

The family will receive visitors from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Harry and Bryant, 500 Providence Road, Charlotte NC. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 26, 2013 at First Baptist Church, 202 North 2nd Street, Albemarle NC.
