My sincere sympathies go out to your family. I was grateful that Marie and I were chatting and getting caught up on our lives recently. Am happy our sons were close friends from childhood. May you  rest in peace Marie.  

If memory serves me correct, I first met Marie when I was a freshman in HS. She was a lunch aide/hall monitor. I had no idea who she was, I just knew she was a really nice woman who answered my question about lunch, or possibly even yelled at me for running in the hall, lol. Fast forward to meeting Joanne thru a mutual friend and to my surprise the "lunch lady" is Joanne's mom!! Since then, Marie was a friend to me as well. I have to admit I loved trying to make her laugh. Her laugh was so unique and awesome, I loved hearing it. She scored even more points with me when I found out she was a "Fanilow!!" Concerts followed, not only for Barry but for Cher also...could this woman be any cooler?!?! She was a joy to laugh with, always smiling and treated me like family. Marie will be missed. I can hear that laugh still and will always remember her. My love and condolences to the family. 

Marie was loved so much by my whole family.  We will forever hold our Friday night dinners forever in our hearts.

I will  always remember my cousin Marie’s beauty and kindness - Equal. We went to the feast in Brooklyn.. I was little and she held me up on her hip so I could see. Maybe I was a bit heavy for her, but she did it for me. She was my sponsor for my Confirmation. She was extra beautiful that day. Her dress, her hair, her smile. She brought me a present. I was so happy and surprised, I don’t know I was getting a present. A silver Timex watch. I stared at it, my first ‘adult’ present. She looked at me with her beautiful face, her kind smile . I’ll never forget the way she looked at me. Her happiness for me. I remember her wedding, I remember her pregnant w Joanne. I remember going to Long Island, Marie and Steve sitting at the kitchen table. Many many happy times. And of course almost falling down the stairs with that huge knife to cut a cake for Joanne!  She loved her children, her sister and brother,  She loved her family.  She was always kind, sweet and loving to me. That was Marie. 

I was blessed to live close to Aunt Marie when she lived in FL. We planned lunch dates and lazy pool days together along with her sister, my Aunt Carol. She would always attend my daughters’ birthday parties, too. We always had a great time together filled with laughs and great conversation. I am grateful my girls got that time with her and to see what a wonderful person she was. Love you always Auntie ❤️❤️

A little lady that will tell you like it is. Mrs. Thompson, you have been a big part of my childhood and adult life, and will continue to be for as long as I live. We will always miss you and we are all grateful for the time we shared with you. RIP lady, and I know someday we will meet again.
