Marguerite J. Morgan, a beacon of warmth and compassion, peacefully left us at 93. She touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. A devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Marguerite embodied the essence of family and love.
As a daughter, Marguerite cherished her parents, Roy and Mary Jordan, and her siblings, Leroy and Connie. She loved to tell stories of her youth, imparting valuable lessons about resilience and determination. For 65 years, Marguerite shared a nearly lifelong partnership filled with love and devotion to her late husband, Robert Adams Morgan.
As a mother, Marguerite provided unwavering support, guidance, and love to her children, Amy Morgan Zuckerman and the late Robert Adams Morgan, Jr. She loved spending time with her three grandchildren, Lindsey Viscomi, Carley Thompson, and Adam Zuckerman, and delighted in spending time with her five great-grandchildren. She was also very close to many of her nieces and nephews living throughout the country.
With her radiant personality and authentic interest in others, Marguerite had an uncanny ability to forge friendships wherever life took her. In her presence, everyone was an instant friend, and her absence will be keenly felt by her family and nearly everyone she encountered, whether the staff at local restaurants or grocery stores or the members of her church. Marguerite took immense pride in the connections she nurtured within her community.
She peppered conversations with favorite phrases. Whether she would “tell you the truth” or “go back to this,” her stories were one-of-a-kind and will be much missed. She particularly enjoyed telling her grandchildren how Robert swept her off her feet and away from her other suitor.
The family especially wants to thank Marguerite's friends from Stephen's Ministry at South Park Church, the staff at Briar Creek, her hospice nurses, and the countless friends and family who offered love and support over the last years of her declining health.
A private burial will be held at Sharon Memorial Park—a memorial service to be announced later. Instead of flowers, donations can be made to South Park Church, or take a cue from Marguerite and speak to someone new today.
