Mrs. Little of Charlotte, NC passed away, January 7, 2013. She was born January 9, 1924 in Alabama to Marguerite Lester and Walter Cox. Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved parents and brother, Jimmy. She was also preceded in death by her devoted husband, Jack, as well as her loving son, Mark.
Margaret and her family moved from Alabama during Margaret’s high school years. It was at the “old Central High”, where, as a cheerleader, she met the love of her life, Jack Watson Little. Theirs was a love story that will never be forgotten. So in love as teenagers, they eloped to South Carolina. For two weeks, they remained at their respective homes, until they both reached a point where they could not bear to live apart and revealed their marriage to their parents. Such was the beginning of a truly blessed marriage that produced three children, Linda, Jack and Mark. Margaret was the consummate wife, mother and homemaker. She had a remarkable sense of humor and loved fiercely.
Once the children were grown, Margaret pursued her love of fashion and began working as a rep for various ladies apparel lines. She began a career, and built an impressive business, for Leslie Faye Petites Dresses and Sportswear. Fashion was a perfect fit for Margaret, as she had an innate sense of fashion and was always beautifully dressed. Margaret enjoyed being a member of the Women’s Charity League, as well as modeling for Montaldo’s and Ivey’s.
Margaret and Jack were founding members of Providence Baptist Church. She served as a greeter every Sunday morning and worked closely with Rev. Gordon Weekley. Their family life was centered around their steadfast faith and commitment to their church.
In her retirement, Margaret pursued many passions, such as spending family time at the beach and visiting family in California and Florida.
Margaret’s family and friends will remember her as a joyful and lighthearted woman, who loved to laugh, and was always optimistic. She was at her happiest when surrounded by family and friends, and without exception, could find fun in any situation. Her loving strength and spirit will never be forgotten.
She is survived by daughter, Linda Jane Hall (husband, Roger); son, Jack,( wife, Sinclair); grandchildren, Jenifer Hall Balducci (husband ,Dave), Catherine Hall and Roger B. Hall; Ely, Simpson, and Jack Bennette Little; and Margo Little; and great-grandchildren, Sage and Jackie Balducci.
