Marcus Orlando Carter

Marcus Orlando Carter gained his wings on the 17th of December, 2023. He was born the 15th of September, 1982 in Charlotte, NC to Vivian Carter Phillips and Godfrey Elliott. Marcus attended Providence High School. He was a committed employee of Wal Mart with 17 years of service wearing many different hats on the third shift.

As a child, Marcus attended Red Branch Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed Anime, video games, marvel comics, the Carolina Tar Heels and the Carolina Panthers. He loved his beloved family pet, Dora. Marcus was known for his infectious laugh and smile. Although a man of few words, he was always careful to make sure his family felt loved.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Idena Carter and Cora Lee Elliott and Middleton Gassaway, Jr.; three aunts, Sheila T. Carter, Pamela Carter Dover and Jacqueline Ealey and one sister, Kathy Hollman.

Marcus is survived by his mother, Vivian Carter Phillips (Tyrone) and his Father, Godfrey Elliott; his brother and caretaker, Markieth Owens and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He enjoyed a special friendship with Dominique Pettis and Derrick Brown and a special cousin, Beverly Bost.

Marcus Orlando (Red Daddy, RedCat82, Red) Carter will truly be missed.

The family will greet friends 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM, Saturday, the 23rd of December, 2023 in the Chapel of Forest Lawn West Funeral Service. The Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 Noon.
