Lewis “Lew" David Fink, 75, of Lenoir, North Carolina, entered into eternal rest on November 26, 2023. His funeral service was held Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at the Hebrew Cemetery in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Lew was born March 20,1948 in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania, the son of Monroe Fink and Ruth Freedman Fink. He graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Elementary Education and began his career as a teacher in Tappahannock, Virginia.
Lew moved from Virginia to Charleston,South Carolina in the late 70s to pursue a career in insurance with Herbert Steinert. After Herbert Steinert retired, Lew worked with Robert Baxter at R.E. Baxter and Associates in financial planning.
In 1989, he opened his own insurance agency, Citadel One. For the next ten years, he represented United Chambers Insured Plan as the Regional Manager for North and South Carolina and established a website for life insurance sales.
A longtime member of Charleston Yacht Club, he loved sailing and being on the water.
You could always find him at the marina working on his sail boat. In 2019, Lew and Rae moved to Lenoir to enjoy retirement. He enjoyed playing guitar, riding motorcycles through the North Carolina mountains, and kayaking lakes and streams.
He is survived by his spouse, Rae Tashakori, of Lenoir, NC; brother, Dr. Alan J. Fink of Winchester, VA; nephew Alex J. Fink (Jessalyn) of Charlottesville, VA; niece, Abby L. Engesser (James) of Charleston, SC; three great-nieces of Charlottesville, VA, former wife, Jackie Fink of James Island, SC, and his beloved Goldendoodles Remi and Ollie.
