Mr. Baucom, 69, of Charlotte went home to be with the Lord on May 13, 2013. He was born September 23, 1943 in Charlotte, NC. He worked as a truck driver/foreman at Century Steel and Iron for many years he went on to work with his four brothers at Baucom’s Canvas and Awnings for 12 years.
Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis E. Baucom, Sr. and Kathleen Miller Baucom, and his sister Dorothy Baucom Guyton. Survivors include his wife Patsy Baucom, his two sons Joseph Edward Baucom, Fred Baucom and wife Tanya; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren; along with four brothers Brad, Clifford, Ronnie and Cotton.
He was a member of Gloryland Baptist Church in Charlotte. The family would like to thank the people of the Harris Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 12:00pm, on Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Rd. Charlotte, NC 28212. The family will receive friends at a visitation one hour prior. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Gloryland Baptist Church 3001 Gloryland Ave. Charlotte, NC 28213.
